Pia was born in Sweden, immigrated to Canada when she was 5 years old, and grew up in Richmond Hill, Ontario. She graduated in 2002 from the Ontario Veterinary College and joined the Grenville-Dundas Veterinary Clinic in Kemptville upon graduation as a full time mixed animal veterinarian. In 2005, Pia took an extended vacation, riding her horse "Stumpy" across eastern Canada from Quebec to Prince Edward Island, taking her about 4 weeks to complete the journey. She joined the Prescott Animal Hospital/Rideau-St. Lawrence team in 2009. She has a special interest in reproduction, internal medicine, exotic and preventative medicine. Pia lives on a small farm just outside of Kemptville with her husband Tony, daughter Anna, 1 1/2 horses (Stumpy and Anna's pony Dolly), her dog Mio, and 2 barn cats. In her spare time she loves to travel, bake, and spend time outdoors.
