Extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is a non-invasive treatment used to aid in the healing of musculoskeletal problems, soft-tissue injuries and bone injuries in horses. Shock wave therapy is used to stimulate healing, new bone growth, increase cell permeability and stimulate different cells and blood vessels attributed to the healing process.
